Inclusion
Online Safety
Online safety remains a key safeguarding priority and an important area of learning for all our students.
We recognise the important role that parents and carers play in helping young people navigate the online world safely and confidently. Working together, we can help our students recognise potential risks, make informed choices and know where to turn if something worries them.
Please take a moment to read this poster, which provides further information and helpful guidance on keeping your child safe online.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our young people safe.
Family Welfare: We Are Here to Help
At Penryn College, we believe that school and families work together as a team around every young person. We recognise that challenges outside of school can affect the whole family, and we want to remind you that our support extends beyond the school day and beyond the student.
If you or your family are experiencing difficulties, or feel that some additional support would be helpful, please talk to us.
Inclusion: Support in School
We recognise that understanding the lived experiences of our young people is essential to ensuring they feel safe, supported and that they belong.
The more we know, the better we can understand and support your child. We encourage families to keep talking to us and sharing information that may help us provide the right support. This includes academic support, support with attendance, emotional wellbeing and any challenges that may be affecting your child's experience of school.
In particular, please let us know if your child:
-
Is a Young Carer.
-
Is part of a Services family (has a parent or family member serving in the Armed Forces).
-
Has previously received support from Children's Social Care.
-
Has experienced a bereavement or is currently coping with the loss of someone important to them.
Mr. Prynn and Mrs. Williams run fortnightly mentoring sessions for young people within these identified groups. These sessions provide opportunities to build positive relationships, develop a sense of belonging, share experiences and ensure that student voices are heard and valued. They also help us identify where additional support may be needed, including with learning, attendance, careers and wider school life.
- We will be inviting identified students to take part, but please encourage your child to come and speak to us if they would like to know more.
- If you would like further information as a parent or carer, or feel your child would benefit from additional support, please get in touch.
We want every young person to feel that they belong, that their voice matters and that they have the support they need to aspire and succeed.
