ParentPay

Penryn College is working alongside ParentPay in moving towards a cashless school. ParentPay is an online facility which parents/carers can use to pay for school trips, lunches and printing. It takes the hassle away from finding cash to send in with pupils or writing cheques for school trips.

At any time, a minimum of £1.00 can be added to your child’s account. Although ParentPay is the preferred method, if you are unable to use ParentPay, the Finance Office can accept cash payments.

ParentPay login details will be sent to parents/carers of new Year 7 pupils near the end of the summer holidays.  Should you forgot or misplace your login details for ParentPay, please e-mail finance@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk or call us on 01326 372379 and ask for details to be reissued to you.

If you have any queries regarding ParentPay, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thumbprint Scanning

We now offer thumbprint scanning to complement our cashless payment system in the canteen. This supports our move to a single break time to ensure everyone is able to access the canteen quickly and efficiently. It is hoped we can offer several benefits;

  • Less time queuing for food in the canteen
  • Reduced cost of printing cards
  • Reduced risk of losing cards

ParentPay and the systems we use to administer payments will remain unchanged. We would like to reassure our parents and students that this is not mandatory and there will be an opportunity to opt out of the new system. If you or your young person wishes to opt out of using thumbprint recognition, we will continue to operate the existing card system.

In order to comply with the provisions of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, we need written permission from a parent / carer in order for students to use the biometric systems.  You can read our biometrics FAQ here and opt in to utilising biometrics here.
