  Liz is a governor and currently serves on the Finance Committee. She previously served for five and a half years as a governor at Constantine Primary School, where she chaired the Finance Committee and greatly enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the success of the school and local community. Liz is a governor because she would like to use her professional experience to assist the governing body and the school management team to further its good work with the students at Penryn College.

With two children who have already been through the school and to Truro College for A-levels and university, I believe my experience will provide the governing body with valuable insight into a child's full educational experience at Penryn College and beyond.”

  Originally from Leeds in West Yorkshire, Nick worked as Policy Adviser within the Civil Service before joining the Royal Navy as a helicopter pilot. He has deployed on a wide range of operations and exercises, flying to and from ships around the world. Nick is now a pilot instructor, teaching the next generation of naval aviators. He lives in Falmouth with his wife Tess (who works for Cornwall Council), his son Max, daughter Nora, and their dog Maggie.

  “I absolutely loved my time at school and I think that is because it was a secure and well-run place with lots of opportunities and great staff. I want to make sure the kids in my local community have the same experience I did and develop the skills they need to succeed in the future.”

  For the past 16 years, I've taught in primary schools across the county, gaining experience in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.I have spent the past five years as a parent governor at Mylor Bridge Primary School. When my son joined Penryn College, I was eager to become a trustee and contribute to the school's development and direction.

  I have a background in design and enjoy both graphic and interior design. In my spare time, I like walking, cycling, camping, and enjoying the beaches and sights of Cornwall.

  I grew up in the local area and have lived in Penryn for the past 15 years. My family, friends, and their children are all part of the local community. My son currently attends Penryn College, and my daughter will be joining him in the future.

  I became a trustee because I hope to use my educational experience to contribute positively to the future of Penryn College. I am passionate about education and committed to ensuring every pupil has an excellent learning experience in a setting that nurtures wellbeing and promotes high achievement for all.
